CANTON— Custom Substrate Screenprinting had a ribbon cutting ceremony this week, even though the business has been open officially since March.
Since then business growth has been steady as customers flock for custom screen printing needs, from hats to T-shirts. Businesses can purchase custom promotional designs too.
There’s a plentiful supply of high-quality T-shirts in multiple colors that customers can choose from in deciding which colors to use for their selected design.
Owner Cain Parsons takes pride in the shop being local and has a passion for the business. The goal of the company is to provide each customer with a personalized touch.
“We are a local company. We have the very best turnaround and prices. We’ve been open since March, and it has become better and better as time has gone along,” Parsons said.
Parsons started his career as an auto mechanic, but a back injury required a different line of work, so he launched Custom Substrate Screenprinting. The business combines his decades of mechanical expertise with his passion for artistic design.
Parsons explained that the company first started last year at craft festivals and markets around Asheville.
“We expanded to where we are at now here. We do mostly screen printing and a little bit of retail,” he said.
He said he chose Canton to open his business because of its small town atmosphere.
Hours are usually from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tuesday- Friday. Parsons said it is best to call ahead about hours too. The business is located on 82 Main St. in downtown Canton. Parsons can be reached at 828-492-0494. His website is substratecustomscreenprinting.com.
