“Feeling overwhelmed with outfit planning for your Disney vacation?” asked TikToker ouawardrobe, “We can help.”
This is the exact service provided by Once Upon A Wardrobe, an outfit planning company set out to “style your next vacation.”
Anyone who has been to the Disney Parks has likely witnessed a matching group of tourists, moving in unison or posing for photos donning customized shirts. Some contain Disney puns, some include family names and trip dates, some are inspired by popular Disney characters, and the list goes on.
With that, Ashlie Henderson and Lauren Hoesly saw an opportunity to put their love for style and all things Disney to good use. They started a company called Once Upon A Wardrobe, complete with a  YouTube channel and a TikTok account to which they post videos like the one seen below for a little over three thousand followers in hopes to spread the word about their offerings.

There are currently two custom services listed on their website. The “Minnie” Look is priced at $15 and the Full Look is priced at $20. The details are listed as follows:
The “Minnie” Look allows you to select the 3 specific items you would like us to search for. It could be a shirt, necklace and ears, or any combination of pieces you need. This can be the perfect option for someone who already knows or owns a lot of the components they would like to bring on their trip and simply wants us to fill in the blanks!
The Full Look is composed of a complete outfit of virtually assembled clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry, hair accessories, etc. The sky is the limit, and you will be able to select exactly what you are looking for within the style survey. With both the “Minnie” Look and the Full Look, we always include a slide of “Magical Extras” composed of fun, bonus items!
Prospective customers first select a service and then fill out a style survey to allow the company to best incorporate an individual’s style into their selections.
The looks are styled, virtually organized, and then returned to clients for viewing within 10-15 business days. Virtual stylist meetings are available for no additional cost, or clients can choose to simply receive an email with their results, complete with a PDF containing links to purchase their selections should they decide to move forward.
There is no obligation to purchase any of Once Upon A Wardrobe’s recommendations, as the service is considered complete with the delivery of the personalized outfit list. Their services are not just limited to Disney Guests, but are available to anyone planning a vacation who needs assistance with packing.
While a service like this might feel over the top for some, it seems there are others who could benefit from Ashlie and Lauren’s help as there has been a surge in dress code violations as of late.
A photo of a Guest wearing a vulgar shirt to Disneyland recently circulated on social media and fans were displeased to see such attire in the historically family-friendly environment.
Other dress code violations are made due to safety concerns, or because a Guest too closely imitated a character costume in their choice in wardrobe.
Either way, dress code violations are taken seriously by the Disney parks and handled on a case-by-case basis, something Once Upon A Wardrobe could help hopeful Guests avoid.
Disney’s website urges Guests to dress comfortably for the parks while enlisting their own “discretion and common sense,” keeping in mind that good walking shoes should be considered, and shirts are required always.
Disney lists inappropriate attire on their website as well, including but not limited to:
For those in violation of their dress code, Disney “reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests.”

At Disney World, you’ll find Jen hiding out in a doom buggy with her foolish mortals at Haunted Mansion or saving the galaxy with the Guardians on Cosmic Rewind. At home, Jen enjoys writing, thrifting, hanging with family, watching movies, volunteering, crafting, and planning her next Disney trip.

Inside the Magic was created in 2005. What started as a tiny central Florida based website and short weekly podcast that provided our audience the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World virtually has grown to the publishing company it is today. We focus on bringing you all things fun so you can plan your theme park vacation, enjoy Disney at home, and more.
ITM now consists of multiple writers living near both Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks and around the world. This allows us to bring you the most interesting, entertaining, and unique entertainment experiences, covering theme parks, movies, TV, video games, special events and so much more.
