This Sunday, Trinity held the Shamrock Awards Luncheon to honor new inductees to the Beta Club and National Honor Society, our Steinhauser scholars, and those students who won Shamrock Awards for the 2021-2022 school  year.  Any student who did not receive their award this weekend, needs to come to Academic Services this week to pick it up.  Congratulations and Go Rocks!
Tackling Hunger Together Dare to Care Food Drive
Trinity and St. X are hosting a food drive for Dare to Care called Tackling Hunger Together. Collections will run during Pride Week. Drop off locations are in the Rotunda all week, the JV football game on Monday, and the Freshman Football game on Thursday. Items needed are peanut butter, canned fruit, canned soup, rice, tuna, fruit juice, cereal, canned meats, pasta, and spaghetti sauce.
$1 Dress Down Day on Thursday
Thursday will be a $1 Dress Down Day for Catholic Charities Indigent Burial Program. Trinity’s St. Joseph of Arimathea Society works with Catholic Charities to do funeral services at Meadow View Cemetery. The people who are buried at Meadow View are the homeless, the unclaimed, and people whose families couldn’t afford their funeral. This collection will be used for simple headstone markers that cost $20 each to make.
Students can dress down for $1, or more, in jeans/khakis, a Trinity shirt/jacket/hoodie, and athletic/dress shoes. T-shirts must be tucked in. Money will be collected during advising.
Attention young scientists! Have you ever wanted to explore the depths of a rainforest, swim in volcanic waters, or surf the pacific beaches? Now is your chance. Trinity will be taking a 10 day science research trip to Costa Rica this summer. We will study leaf cutter ants, frogs, and butterflies in the jungle and look for sea turtles on the coast. Students will have an opportunity to work with college professors while they travel through Costa Rica’s diverse landscape. Don’t pass up an opportunity to learn, eat, and play in one of them most beautiful places in the world. If you are interested, please see Mr. Heintz in room F134 for an application. There is a parent information meeting on Monday, Oct 3 at 6pm to discuss the trip.
All students interested in the Ecuador/Galapagos Islands trip this summer: we are down to the last couple of places left on board.  Anyone registering by the end of this month will be able to take advantage of current trip prices.  By Oct. 1st the cost of trip increases by several hundred dollars.  Reserve and register your place NOW!!
Students that ordered a sports pass should go to athletics in Shamrock Hall to pick it up from the window!

House News:
Patio Cookout:
To kick off Pride Week, the Pep Club will sponsor a cookout on the Alumni Hall patio immediately after school today. FLIK will provide a limited number of free hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and waters to students. First come, first served.
Pride Week T-Shirts:
Limited edition Pride Week t-shirts will be on sale for $10 this Wednesday-Friday during all lunches.
Pride Week Games:
Mystery Pride Persons – Tuesday through Friday
Five faculty/staff persons will be selected each day as Mystery Pride Persons. 
The first student who says, “BEAT ST. X” to them will be awarded a token.
Students can return this token to Mr. Domzalski in T214 to receive a candy prize.
Track the Tiger Tails – Tuesday through Friday
Students can play Track the Tiger Tail. Ten Tiger Tails will be hidden in teachers’ classrooms.
Students who locate the tail can bring it to Mr. Domzalski in T214 where they will receive a candy prize.
Dress Down Days:
Students and faculty will have the opportunity to dress down Tuesday – Thursday.
These days will be special themed dress down days. Students are encouraged to dress in theme, but if they don’t have a themed shirt, they can still dress down, if they follow the rules for casual dress days listed in the student Code of Conduct.
Students wearing the themed shirts are expected to follow all the other rules for dress down days.
TODAY: Sports Theme, Wear the jersey or shirt of your favorite sports team. (Jerseys must have sleeves or be worn with a T-shirt)
TOMORROW: Spirit Day, Wear your Pride Week T-shirt or other Trinity-themed shirt .
This day is a $1 Dress Down Day to benefit Catholic Charities
Pep Rally:
The Pep Club will hold a Pep Rally on Friday afternoon. We will be on a special bell schedule on Friday. Students will be dismissed immediately after the Pep Rally.
The varsity football team will take on Cincinnati St. X on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 PM​ at Marshall Stadium. This game is a House marquee event. Students and faculty who check in during the game on the Trinity Shamrocks App or with Mr. Klein will earn points for their house.​​ The names of the attendees will also be entered into a drawing. Ten attendees will receive a $10 gift card to Jimmy Johns. ​​The house with the most attendees will receive 10 points. The house with the second highest number of attendees will receive 9 points, third – 8 points, fourth – 7 points, fifth – 6 points, sixth through tenth – 5 Points. If a house has no members in attendance, it will receive 0 Points.​​
Freshman Rockin’ will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Rockin’ is a fun-filled day for freshmen to get to know the other members of their House. Houses will compete in 10 different events. Including a 3-Point Shooting contest, Trinity Jeopardy, a balloon toss, and an obstacle course. The house that earns the most points over the course of the day will be named the 2022 Rockin’ Champs. (Points: First Place – 20 points, Second Place – 15, Third Place – 10 Points, 5 points for all other houses.)
Your Ultimate Uno warriors fought battles at two tables this week. To get a glimpse into the ferocity of the matches, at one table when a wild card was laid down, a player asked, “What color?” The reply? “Black, the color of my soul when I play Uno.” Yikes! Freshman Ahmed Aldhalemi dominated his table, winning twice. Dr. Zoeller continued his dominance at the second table with a 40-minute marathon win. Senior Evan Henderson also won a last-minute game of Speed Uno. Thanks to celebrity guest player Mr. Harris who joined us for a game. More Uno madness is a couple weeks.

Anime Club next meeting is TODAY from 3-4 p.m. with Ms. Moses in F133.
The next meeting for the Culinary Club will take place on Tuesday, October 4from approximately 3:05-5:00.  The meeting will begin in the faculty dining room.  Hope to see you there!
The Guitar Club will meet TUESDAY, SEPT. 27. We will meet right after school in the music room C271. You can drop your guitar off there in the morning as well. Again – guitar club meeting TUESDAY, SEPT. 27 after school. Remember – players of all styles and abilities are welcome! Any questions? Trinity Barbell Club will have its 1st call out meeting TODAY in Mr. Bowles’ classroom. 
The Trinity Black Student Union will meet TOMORROW during advising in Mr. Greenwell’s room, F232.  We will be discussing potential collaboration with other BSUs, club activities, and more.  This is open to all students.  Any questions, see Mr. Greenwell or Mrs. DeGolian for more information.

“Are you looking to learn a new game this year? Then, Join the Cricket club. No prior knowledge of the game is needed. This game will be played in the Shamrock hall, after school on Tuesdays. If interested you may sign up ASAP with Mr. CM in room F332.
Students, if you feel that a career in architecture, engineering or construction work may be in your future, then the ACE is just for you. What is ACE? ACE mentoring program provides students with an opportunity to collaborate and learn from professionals in the field of design and construction. Experts will share advice and valuable skills about what’s needed to be successful.  You will also complete an actual project and have the chance to make good contacts and earn scholarship money at the end of the process. If you are interested in learning more about ACE, then please see Mr. CM in F332. Also, those students who were in the program last year need to reconfirm their interest by signing up again. The ACE club will meet every other Wednesday, and the first meeting will be early next month.
Are you interested in flying, airplanes and flight simulators? Then you may consider joining the Tim’s Flying Club. The club will meet every other week on Thursdays throughout the year. If interested, sign up with Mr CM in room F332 after school.
Look around you. You are surrounded by a world full of electronics? But how does it all work? Would you like to gain more insight into this subject? If so, sign up for the Electronics Club with Mr. CM in F332. This hands-on club includes activities like soldering, de-soldering components, and the assembling of small circuits for various applications, and in the process you can learn some of the basics of electricity and electronics. This club will meet every other Monday.
Attention all Trinity Skiers and Snowboarders: Trinity’s Ski and Snowboard Club is back and ready for action!  Our first meeting will be in September, but students who are interested in joining the club for this year need to join the club Remind Account at this time.  To join the Remind, text @thsski202 to the number 81010.  If you have questions, contact Sr. Kathy Cash or Ben Holland.

Attention Seniors:  We could use a few more of you to join the Senior Flag Corps.  We participate in the pre-game ceremonies before each home football game.  It requires about 30 minutes of your time – is super easy – and looks great on your resume`!!  See Mrs. Mason in the Technology Center on the bottom floor of Old Trinity Hall or email her at mason@trinityrocks.com.
Attention Trinity Bowlers: Make sure you have completed your athletic code of conduct form through PowerSchool and you have your updated KHSAA physical on file with the Athletics Office. Official tryouts are Monday and Tuesday, October 4 and 5. All forms need to be completed and turned in prior to tryouts. We are a competitive, non-cut sport. Come build basic skills in lane patterns, ball grip, release timing and lane approach. Be a part of a competitive team that competes yearly for a spot in the KY State Bowling Tournament. Preferred pre-season practices are underway! Team members will bowl at Kingpin on Tuesday and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5pm. No ball or shoes? No problem.
